Galp inaugurated a new filling station in the town of Pambarra, in the Vilankulos District, thus expanding its network in the province of Inhambane as part of its investment plan and expansion of the retail network, which should reach 70 service stations by the end of the year. The new filling station, inaugurated by the Vilankulos District Administrator, Edmundo Matos, is located on the national road N1, the country's main highway, and is open 24 hours a day.
The Galp filling station has a convenience store integrated with a Tangerina coffee shop and two supply islands, with ample parking space for heavy and light vehicles, as well as support services, such as public bathrooms and office and storage areas. The Pambarra station, which will employ 25 local workers, is part of Galp's plan focused on rural areas, which aims to contribute to stimulate local economies and improve the population’s living conditions.
“We thank Galp for offering this opportunity in this business range for Vilancula in general, for Pambarra in particular, for interns and all institutions that will benefit from the existing services in this modern infrastructure. This filling station fills us with joy because it can contribute to the development of the local economy, in addition to responding to user demand.” said Edmundo Galiza Matos, Vilankulos District Administrator at the official inauguration ceremony of the new Pambarra station.
“This is another example of our commitment to modernize the country's energy infrastructure, where we pursue an extensive investment plan in the logistics, storage, distribution and retail activities of liquid fuels and LPG,” said Paulo Varela, CEO of Galp Moçambique.
In view of the current pandemic context, Galp strengthened the hygiene and cleaning measures for the most critical areas of contact with customers, highlighting the guidelines issued by the Mozambican Government and the World Health Organization (WHO), and all Galp filling stations remain operational and unrestricted.
