The GIMTL Logistics Terminal (Galp-IPG Matola Terminal Ltd) is the result of an investment by a partner between Galp (Petrogal Moçambique Ltd) and IPG (Independent Petroleum Group), which is operated and managed using the most modern digital technology in Industry 4.0 (IoT). The investment reinforces the reliability and security of fuel supply to the entire southern region of the country and doubles the capacity for receiving and storing domestic gas (LPG).
This terminal complies with the highest safety and environmental protection standards, strictly complying with all national and international requirements, and is also a factor in economic development and modernization of infrastructures essential to boost the economy and development of society.
The facility has a storage capacity of 60,000 m³ for liquid fuels, respectively 40,000 m³ of diesel and 20,000 m³ of petrol and 6,000 m³ of LPG. It also has the capacity to ship all products: tank trucks, tank wagons and LPG through piping interconnecting with bottle filling complexes operated independently by Galp and the IPG in Matola.
The IGBTL Logistics Terminal (IPG-Galp Beira Terminal Ltd) is the result of a partnership between Galp (Petrogal Moçambique Ltd) and IPG (Independent Petroleum Group). The hydrocarbon storage facility at the Port of Beira has been operational since February 2021.
The facility receives petroleum products by ship and stores and distributes it locally and in neighbouring countries, by road and gas pipeline. Like GIMTL, it complies with the highest national and international safety and environmental protection standards.
The facility has a storage capacity of 65,000m³ along with other logistics facilities, such as loading gates, access to the pier, access to the gas pipeline.
Matola LPG filling and lubricant storage facility
Galp has been present in the LPG business in Mozambique since 1957, and we supply LPG with the widest national coverage in the domestic and industrial segments, with great concern in terms of safety and reliability so that there is no shortage of gas in the Mozambicans' homes — which is why we improved our filling and storage capacity with GIMTL and also improved supply with the installation of a new Matola line.
Matola LPG facility is the logistics infrastructure supporting this business, which guarantees the filling of G26 (11kg) and G110 (45kg) bottles throughout the province of Maputo and the southern part of the country. For the central and northern areas, the supply is provided from the Beira facility.
