Galp opened another service station in Mozambique this week, following up on the network expansion plan, which will lead the company to exceed 70 stations by the end of this year.
The new filling station, called Kumbeza 2, has been open to the public since Tuesday, 25 February, and is located on Avenida de Moçambique, No. 18, in Bairro Kumbeza, Marracuene District (Province of Maputo). This is the second filling station to open in that area, and also includes a convenience store that operates 24 hours a day.
Galp thus reinforces its commitment to modernize the country's energy infrastructure, which is another example of the company's strong commitment to Mozambique, where it pursues an ambitious investment plan in its logistics, storage, distribution and retail activities for liquid fuels and LPG, at the national level.
Galp expects to double its gas storage capacity in Mozambique this year and also to significantly increase the storage of liquid fuels, with the completion of construction work for the new Beira and Matola Logistics Facilities. This investment by the company represents an investment of USD 138.7 million and will contribute to greater safety and reliability in the supply of LPG and liquid fuels in Mozambique.
With these investments, which should be completed by the end of this year, Galp will now have four logistics facilities in Mozambique. The company currently generates 108 direct jobs and about 2 thousand indirect jobs.
